How The Peaceful Paw Began
My name is Lori Gammon and I am a native of Charlotte, NC and the proud dog mom of Lily the Morkie. I am also the owner and founder of the Peaceful Paw. After working for more than 30 years in the healthcare field and much soul searching, I decided it was time for a career change.Contact Us
On February 6th, 2014 my bulldog, Ike passed away. He was 14 years old. He had a great life and was loved by many. His death had a huge impact on me, his life even more so. I wanted to create something, to do something for him to honor his life.
During the last year of Ike’s life, I started to become more aware of the chemicals and toxins that were in our pet’s food and pet products. I researched pet food companies and was surprised at all the recalls on pet food. I started to incorporate a more holistic approach to his care. After his death, I researched more alternative healthcare options, including the use of essential oils, aromatherapy and even Canine massage.
I knew the best way to honor Ike, was to share my knowledge with other dog parents and the Peaceful Paw was born. I became certified in Animal Aromatherapy. I trained at the Pet Massage Training and Research Institute in Toledo, Ohio under the founder, Jonathan Rudinger. Jonathan has been pivotal in helping to develop the profession of canine massage and is an established authority in the field.
